Doing so would clarify the large doubts that many Americans have about the real intentions of Muslim leaders grand desire to build a Mosque next to the buildings that members of their same historical and religious group destroyed in acts of holy war against America. Without Muslim leaders clarifying these issue thoroughly, I don’t see any rational reason why lovers of America and haters of jihad should dismiss their concerns and grave suspicion of pride for building a grand mosque next to the ruins of the war waged by leaders of their own Muslim tradition. All deep issues of the relations of the two groups need to be identified and resolved; and the Muslim public diplomats need to do it.
